We were honored to participate in the Meet-up: Turkey, Russia, Egypt, Morocco, organized by the Stimuleringsfonds Creative Industries at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. This event brought together experts from different creative fields to discuss political, cultural, and social dynamics in their respective regions and share diverse project experiences shaping public space and urban life.

Representing Design in Situ, co-founder Nagehan Alan highlighted Istanbul as an urban playground—full of challenges and opportunities. She shared insights on how we use interactive digital storytelling and public space interventions to foster engagement and social dialogue. One of the key projects discussed was our response to a controversial statement about women’s public behavior, where we transformed a political remark into an interactive public installation—turning it into a monumental script that laughed back at passersby.

As a studio founded by female designers, we continue to focus on the intersection of urban development, digital media, and social awareness, using technology to amplify messages and extend the impact of public space interventions beyond their physical location.
